Landing Pages

How to Create a Landing Page

Build from the campaign goal backward. Design is downstream of audience, promise and action.

1. Choose one conversion goal

Define what counts as success: a form submission, booking, purchase, trial start or another measurable action.

2. Define the visitor

Write down what brought this person to the page, what they already know and what objection is most likely to stop them.

3. Match the message

Continue the promise from the ad, email, search result or referring page. Do not force the visitor to reinterpret why they arrived.

4. Build the proof path

Explain the offer, benefits, mechanism, evidence and next step in the order a skeptical visitor needs them.

5. Reduce unnecessary exits

Remove navigation and secondary actions when they do not help the campaign goal.

6. Measure the action

Confirm tracking before sending meaningful traffic.

7. Test a hypothesis

Change a substantial variable such as the headline, offer framing, CTA or page structure and measure it against the original.
